What Happens Next

Here is the usual path:

• A provider in our network gets in touch.
• You describe what you have seen and where.
• The provider may ask about your home, pets and kids.
• You agree on a visit time that fits your week.
• You get a written quote before you decide.

Many providers can respond quickly, but timing varies by provider and by season.

What to Ask a Provider

Keep a few questions handy. Jot them on your phone.

• What is causing this, and how do you know?
• What will the visit involve, and how long will it take?
• Do I need to leave the house, cover food or move pets?
• What products will you use, and are they safe around kids and animals?
• Is a follow-up visit part of the plan?
• What can I do in the meantime?
• Is the quote in writing, and what does it include?

For wildlife, ask how the animal is removed and how entry points get closed. For termites, ask how far the damage may reach.

Before the Visit

A little prep helps the visit go smoothly.

• Note where you saw signs and when you first noticed them.
• Take a few clear photos of droppings, damage or the pests themselves.
• Clear a path to the attic, garage or under-sink area.
• Put pets in a safe room if the provider asks.

You Are in Control

You do not have to hire anyone. Compare a quote, ask more questions, or wait. If something feels rushed or unclear, say so.

Work around life. A good provider should be willing to plan around school pickup, work calls and nap time.
